My Philosophy of Camping Ministry:

Camp is a sacred place. It’s not a place to be told what to do or even how to live. It is a place to listen to what God has to say. It’s a place to hear and experience the message of Jesus through the clear evidence of His creation and the genuine presence of His love through His people (spoken and unspoken).

As I transition out of full-time vocational camping ministry after 40 years, I find that my heart and desire is to come alongside camp leaders who do what I love.  I want to be an encouragement to directors in the trenches and that means providing a listening ear. I want to share my experiences where they might be helpful and make available tangible resources where they might best fit. I’m not interested in handing out boiler plate solutions but in providing personal support that produces desired results.

My hope and prayer is that what I share on this site is not so much a primer for camp ministry as it is a series of glimpses into the heart of what takes place at camp.
